]That’s the grin of a man now rolling in it.
France has two reasons to celebrate with their victory over the English yesterday. Pushing nostalgia aside in favor of monetary gains, they’ve dropped 40 years worth of adidas gear in favor of Nike, making yesterday’s friendly the adidas swansong. (Photos here, tissue not supplied.)
But more to the point: in favor of the most expensive shirt deal in the game. €42.6m a year – up from €13m via adidas – they’ll net for this little venture, just for wearing a swoosh instead of three stripes. (The deal will begin in January, and run through 2018.)
Can it be that easy?

For a look back in time, here’s an excellent breakdown of some of the more notable Franco-German collaborations through the years.
However, most importantly: with a fresh new kit on the way, replacing that bra-strappy futuristic technology offered by adidas, and not minutes after dropping the old lover, we’ve got a mock-up:

Nike’s design department inspires no confidence or creativity whatsoever, as reflected in the plausible and possible accurate fakes.
