the Balearic Islands

"K2T Wisata"

The Balearic Islands are an archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea, close to the eastern side of the Iberian Peninsula. There are many islands, the greatest being Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. The islands are an all-time favorite for tourism in Spain, their popularity proved by the many flights to Spain that fly to these destinations directly from all parts of Europe.
Now for this season, since last October and until February 2011, seniors wishing to spend their vacations in Spain can do so in the three greater Balearic Islands: Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza. There will also be a few spots available for trips to Formentera.
Finding hotels in Spain is not always easy, but 276 travel agencies from Spain, based in those four islands, have created special packages for these seniors including accommodation in a 3-star hotel with full board, round-trip flights, entertainment, sanitary assistance and travel insurance.
The initiative is promoted by the Advisor of Tourism and Labor for the Balearic Islands, Joana Barceló. This way, a total of 9251 seniors –retired or over 65 years old- will get a one week of vacations in Spain for a convenient fee.
