Medellin is the second largest and most progressive city in Colombia

"K2T Wisata"
With roughly two million inhabitants, Medellin is the second largest and most progressive city in Colombia. Possibly best known for the culture, the warmth of its people and beautiful girls, there is plenty to do and see in this wonderful and vibrant city. Located at 5,000 ft above sea level, the city was founded in 1616 in the scenic Aburra valley, but remained small until the coffee boom.
Separated by the Medellin River, the city is becoming the destination of choice for many new and seasoned travellers. Medellin is an extremely attractive town filled with sophistication and charm from its Spanish heritage. Although most of the colonial architecture no longer remains, the churches in the center of town are worth a vist. One of the most popular monuments is the Basilica de la Candelaria.

For years Medellin was best known as the center of The Colombian Cartels. With the death of Pablo Escobar, the city is slowly recovering, but is not yet a full-fledged tourist destination. However, international travellers considered Medellin as one of the most beautiful cities in South America. Because to its mild climate all year long, the city is also know as the “City of Eternal Spring”.  Medellin is filled with great restaurants, offer a variety of international cuisine and typical Colombian dishes, hotels, popular museums, as well as the biggest collection of Fernando Botero’s works on display. Nightlife, called “Rumba”, takes place in many locations, beginning in earnest on Thursday night, and running “hot and heavy” through Saturday night.
