Selexyz Dominicanen

"K2T Wisata"
This bookstore is well worth the visit to this medieval city if you are ever in the area. Designed by Merkx+Girod architects, this bookstore is sets in a very unusual place – in a former 800 year old Dominican church. Bookstore Selexyz Dominicanen holds the biggest stock of books in Maastrich, Netherlands.

The Dutch architects have won the Lensvelt de Architect Interior Prize 2007 for their contemporary design that converts the interior of the Dominican Church into a modern bookstore.   Merkx+Girod architects designed the space saved the original character and charm of the church. The store demanded 1,200 sq m of commercial area where only 750 were available. The ground floor gives room to several different book displays, information desks, magazine-stands and cash registers. There is one giant bookshelf, with stairs and elevators taking shoppers and visitors alike, up to the heavens – to roof of the church. Official website: www.selexyz.nl
