Northwestern’s QB Dan Persa lost

"K2T Wisata"

Dan Persa drove Northwestern 91 yards on 11 plays and threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Demetrius Fields with 1:29 left to lift the Wildcats over No. 13 Iowa, 21-17.

Lost in the jubilation was the fact that the junior quarterback ruptured his Achilles tendon on the play. Northwestern (7-3, 3-3) must now rely on backup Evans Watkins for the remainder of the season and the postseason.
Persa was 31-for-42 for 302 yards and two touchdowns and he rushed for another in the victory.
The Wildcats play next week at Wrigley Field against Illinois and then travel to Wisconsin on Nov. 27.
