Oregon, Auburn, and TCU lead the charge in the Bowl Championship Series Standings thanks in part to LaMichael James, Cam Newton, and Andy Dalton. All three are featured on the cover of this week’s Sports Illustrated.

The cover story, written by Austin Murphy and Dan Wetzel, is titled “What a concept playoff: How (and why) the BCS is blocking what college football needs.”
At least the cover story focuses on something positive for Newton and not focusing on his off-the-field allegations.
