"K2T Wisata"

The Magic Christmas in Mexico CityWe always hear about the White Christmas in New York and Paris, as well as we hear from many nice Christmas celebrations in Rome and Tokyo. Following their lead, Mexico City decided this year to start a special Christmas celebration: The Magic of Christmas.
This celebration includes the creation of the Walk of the Lights in the Reforma district and the inauguration of ice skating rinks in Zócalo, all of which will remain open until January 9th, 2011. Christmas is a special season that comes always with lots of magic; so The Magic of Christmas is a way of reminding all of us, children and adults, of the importance of Christmas in Mexico and how great it is to celebrate it.
The objective is to continue the recovery of the public spaces where free activities are offered, which also represents an increase in the revenues the capital of Mexico receives, estimated in 8500 million of Mexican pesos –over 685 million US dollars. Mexico DF would receive over eight million visitors, people taking a trip to Mexico to see these main events for Christmas, but to also visit other well-known places for tourism in Mexico DF in different parts of the city.
But it is not the first time Mexico DF tries a Christmas special. In the past, they had great results with December Parties 2007, Winter in the Capital 2008 and The Magic of Christmas 2009.
For the 2010 edition of The Magic of Christmas, special events have been planned: births, Christmas villages, great concerts, Christmas cabins, Christmas songs and an ice museum. Also the Hockey World Championship will be taking place for the first time in Mexico on January 9th, 2011 in alternative courts.
There are two ice skating rinks for this Christmas in Mexico: one of 800 square meters and another one of 300 square meters. Both are well lit with over 200,000 light bulbs that extend in over 8 kilometers in Paseo de la Reforma, all planned using Mexican technology only. But the best is that these ice skating rinks are for public use, and for free.
There will be a slide, motorcycles, areas for snow-ball fight and areas for sculpting your own snowman. You can also enjoy street art on the walls and enjoy the sensation of all the giant lights. Some 800 security guards will take care of public safety, to make sure everything goes smoothly and that you can enjoy tourism in Mexico the way you should.
So what do you think? Are you ready for spending Christmas on a trip to Mexico? Book your flight to Mexico and your hotel in Mexico DF before it is too late. You won’t regret it!
